Join the Excitement: BJP Leaders Rally Ahead of Crucial Elections!
Senior leaders from the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) campaigned vigorously on Thursday for the upcoming Bodoland Territorial Council (BTC) elections, attributing large-scale corruption to former administrations led by the Bodoland People’s Front (BPF) and the United People’s Party Liberal (UPPL).
Speaking at an election rally in Palengbari, located within the Thuribari Assembly constituency, Union Minister Sarbananda Sonowal emphasized repeated allegations of corruption against the BPF and UPPL governments. He stated, “In contrast, the Modi government maintains a zero-tolerance policy toward corruption.” Sonowal further asserted that only a BJP government could effectively implement central and state schemes, ensuring that benefits reach the intended recipients and safeguarding public funds from misappropriation.
Sonowal also noted the restoration of peace, brotherhood, and unity in Bodoland, which had previously been plagued by insecurity and unrest. He highlighted significant achievements in the region, such as the establishment of universities, a ₹4,000-crore development package for Assam covering 2025-2030, and enhancements in healthcare and district connectivity. “These initiatives demonstrate why a BJP government is essential in Bodoland for sustained development,” he added.
Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma participated in election rallies at Bhergaon, Bhairavkunda, and Dihira, underlining the BJP’s commitment to ensuring a corruption-free BTC. He pointed out that funds allocated by the central government, which were intended for the welfare of the people in BTC, had been misappropriated by previous BPF and UPPL administrations, depriving residents of necessary development.
Sarma confidently claimed that should the BJP come to power in BTC, all allocated funds would consistently reach the citizens, fostering progress in the region. Additionally, Assam BJP President Dilip Saikia and other senior party officials took part in the campaign efforts.
