The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a warning for heavy rainfall over East and Peninsular India, predicting these conditions will persist for the next four to five days. The agency forecasts particularly intense rain in Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim today, with significant rainfall expected throughout East Madhya Pradesh as well. Over the next few days, heavy rain will affect Chhattisgarh, Bihar, and Odisha as well.
In Southern Peninsular India, areas such as Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Mahe, South Interior Karnataka, Coastal Andhra Pradesh, Yanam, and Telangana will experience these heavy rainfall conditions until tomorrow.
Additionally, the IMD forecasts light to moderate rain accompanied by thunderstorms in the northeastern states, including Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, and Arunachal Pradesh over today and tomorrow. These weather patterns emphasize the need for preparedness as local conditions may vary significantly in the coming days.
