Prime Minister Dr. Navichandra Ramgoolam of Mauritius is embarking on an eight-day visit to India starting today, accompanied by his spouse. His trip will kick off in Mumbai, where he will engage in various activities, before heading to Varanasi on September 10 for a bilateral meeting.
During his time in India, PM Ramgoolam is scheduled to meet with President Droupadi Murmu and hold discussions with Prime Minister Narendra Modi aimed at strengthening the Strategic Partnership between the two nations. In addition to participating in a business event in Mumbai, he will also visit Ayodhya, Dehradun, and Tirupati.
This state visit from September 9 to September 16 marks an important moment for bilateral relations, focusing on significant areas such as defense, investment, and trade. The Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) emphasized that India and Mauritius share a robust and historic relationship, characterized by deep cultural and people-to-people connections.
