Three Bangladeshi Nationals Arrested in Assam for Illegal Entry
Three Bangladeshi nationals were apprehended by the Kherapara Outpost on the afternoon of August 25 at 1:00 PM while traveling in a bus with registration number ML08D 8387. The arrested individuals have been identified as Sumi Rani Das, 27, daughter of Khusilal Das, from Jarolia Derai, Chandpur, Sylhet District; Ali Akbar, 25, son of Nasurudin Gawladar, from Morisbhunia, Potuakhali District; and Arif Sikdar, 22, son of Salim Sikdar, from Kalibari, Potuakhali District.
During the search conducted by authorities, three mobile phones, Bangladeshi passports, and national identity cards were recovered from their possession. Preliminary investigations indicate that the trio illegally crossed into India through the Indo-Bangladesh border earlier on the same day, with the aim of traveling to Tamil Nadu for employment opportunities.
A case has been registered under Section 14 of the Foreigners Act at Dalu Police Station, and further investigations are currently underway.
