Manipur Police Capture Three Drug Smugglers in Bishnupur District
Security forces have successfully intercepted a significant heroin smuggling operation along National Highway 02 in Bishnupur district, leading to the seizure of over 369 grams of the drug and the arrest of three individuals.
The first two suspects, identified as Md. Najeruddin, also known as Babu Phisubam, aged 42, and Md. Altab Khan, referred to as Boy Moijingmayum, aged 31, are both residents of Kwakta Ward No. 8. They were apprehended near Terakhongshangbi Bazar, which falls under the jurisdiction of the Moirang police. Authorities confiscated 22 soap cases containing a total of 256 grams of heroin, along with a four-wheeler and two mobile phones during this operation.
Later that same day, law enforcement captured Md. Arub Khan Ipham, known as Khansa, aged 26, who resides in Kwakta Khuman Ward No. 5. His arrest took place at Kwakta Sabal Leikai, within the Phougakchao Ikhai police jurisdiction. Officials seized an additional 10 soap cases containing 113 grams of heroin, another four-wheeler, and a mobile phone with a SIM card.
Investigations are currently ongoing to uncover the sources and distribution networks associated with the seized narcotics.
