The Pune district has achieved the highest number of positions in the Merit List for the Maharashtra State Scholarship Examination, with results released on Friday. In the Pre-Secondary Scholarship exam for Class 5 students, 68 candidates from Pune made it to the Merit List. Among them, 37 students hailed from rural areas, 19 from urban schools, and 12 from CBSE/ICSE schools. Notably, 47 of these students attended Zilla Parishad schools.
In the Secondary Scholarship exam for Class 8 students, 57 students from Pune secured spots on the Merit List, including 37 from rural regions and 20 from urban locales. Forty of these students were enrolled in private aided Marathi-medium schools.
“This success symbolizes the academic strength of the Pune district. The joint efforts of students, teachers, and school administrations have contributed to this outstanding performance. We hope this tradition of excellence continues,” stated Gajanan Patil, Chief Executive Officer of Pune Zilla Parishad. The Maharashtra State Scholarship Examination took place in February.
