Tezpur University in Assam is inviting applications for the position of Junior Research Fellow for a specific research project in 2025. This opportunity is part of a research initiative sponsored by the Department of Biotechnology (NER) and is focused on the development of a chitosan-based biodegradable thermoplastic elastomer. The project is led by Dr. Dhrubajyoti Haloi, an Associate Professor in the Department of Applied Sciences.
There is one position available for the role of Junior Research Fellow. To qualify for this position, candidates must have a postgraduate degree in Basic Science or a graduate or postgraduate degree in professional courses. Additionally, candidates should meet at least one of the following criteria: they must have qualified in the CSIR/UGC NET exam (which includes Assistant Professorship), or they should have cleared a national level examination conducted by various government agencies such as DST, DBT, DAE, DRDO, MoE, ICAR, ICMR, IIT, IISc, IISER, NISER, among others. Alternatively, candidates may qualify in the Category-II merit list of the DBT-BET examination.
Applicants should also be no more than 28 years of age on the application deadline, which can be relaxed according to Government of India rules. The selected candidate will receive a monthly emolument of Rs. 37,000, plus applicable house rent allowance.
