Unlocking Progress: AP-Genco Director Sujay Kumar Ensures Swift Completion of Polavaram Hydroelectric Power Station Works!

Andhra Pradesh-Genco Director (Hydel) M. Sujay Kumar has underscored the importance of completing the Polavaram hydroelectric power station in sync with the main irrigation project’s timeline. During the inauguration of a vital 150/30-tonne capacity crane at the site, Mr. Kumar urged both officials and the contracting agency to devise a detailed action plan aimed at ensuring the timely completion of the power facility.

Mr. Kumar emphasized that construction work should advance concurrently with the diaphragm wall and embankment cut-off wall (ECRF) activities of the Polavaram project. He expressed his satisfaction with the crane’s performance, which is designed to aid in the installation of essential components, including turbines and generators.

Highlighting ongoing developments, Satish Babu Angara, Chief Operating Officer of MEIL, announced that two additional cranes, each boasting a capacity of 225/40 tonnes, will be added to the site shortly. He informed Mr. Kumar that installation of the turbines and generators is set to begin soon, with eight generators already on-site, paving the way for significant progress.

This project is pivotal for Andhra Pradesh, aiming to enhance the region’s energy production capacity while supporting agricultural needs through improved irrigation systems.
