As Odisha prepares for the grand Rath Yatra, Reliance Industries Limited, in partnership with the Puri district administration, has rolled out extensive initiatives to ensure a safe and enriching experience for visitors. The annual chariot festival attracts millions of devotees who come to witness the magnificent procession of Lord Jagannath, Balabhadra, and Subhadra from the Jagannath Temple to the Gundicha Temple.
In alignment with its commitment to service, the Reliance Foundation proudly contributes to this 13-day sacred journey, embodying its “We Care” philosophy. “Seva is a fundamental part of Reliance’s ethos. We consider it a privilege to serve the devotees in Puri and believe that our support enhances their divine experience during the Rath Yatra,” stated Shri Anant M Ambani, Executive Director of Reliance Industries Limited.
Key highlights of the Reliance Seva initiative include the Anna Seva program, which will provide hot, nutritious meals to countless devotees and police officials at six critical locations along the yatra route, ensuring that no one goes hungry. The initiative emphasizes hygiene by installing contactless sanitizers at food stalls and distributing garbage bags to maintain cleanliness, with municipal support for sanitation in police camps.
To facilitate smooth crowd management, Reliance collaborates with municipal and police authorities to set up clear directional signs, assisting visitors in navigating the area. More than 4,000 trained volunteers, identifiable by their uniforms, will help manage crowds and oversee water stations, ensuring devotees remain hydrated despite the summer heat. Additionally, over 1.5 lakh eco-friendly hand fans will be distributed to assist pilgrims in coping with high temperatures.
The Reliance Foundation has also established 100 police aid posts equipped with shelters for on-duty personnel, providing accessible support for devotees. As the monsoon season approaches, 3,500 raincoats will be handed out to police staff, along with refreshment kits for volunteers and municipal workers.
Earlier this year, during the Maha Kumbh 2025, Reliance engaged with several lakhs of visitors in Prayagraj, offering a range of initiatives from meals to health services. The efforts during the Rath Yatra further illustrate Reliance’s dedication to supporting communities during significant spiritual events, reinforcing its commitment to ensuring a safe and healthy experience for all.
