Urgent: DC Requires NOC for Buildings Near Imphal Airport-What You Need to Know
Imphal: The District Commissioner of Imphal West in Manipur, Mayanglambam Rajkumar Singh, has ordered that No Objection Certificates (NOC) must be obtained for all buildings and structures within a 56-kilometre radius of Imphal International Airport. This directive aligns with the Bharatiya Vayuyan Adhiniyam, 2024 (Indian Aircraft Act, 2024), the Aircraft (Demolition of Obstructions) Rules, 1994, and the Ministry of Civil Aviation’s GSR 751(E) notification dated September 30, 2015.
Located approximately 7 kilometres from the city center, Imphal International Airport is subject to strict aviation safety regulations. These regulations require that any construction activities in the specified radius adhere to established height restrictions to avoid hindering aircraft operations. The directive particularly emphasizes structures situated in the Red Zone of the Color Coded Zoning Map (CCZM), where these height restrictions are rigorously enforced.
The District Commissioner has urged all citizens and developers to secure NOCs before initiating any construction. Violations regarding the height of buildings, structures, or trees will be addressed according to the Aircraft Rules, 1994.
