Urgent: MP CM Demands CBI Investigation for Indore Woman’s Disappearance
Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav has requested Union Home Minister Amit Shah to initiate a Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) probe into the disappearance of a woman from Indore in Meghalaya. In a public statement, Yadav indicated that he has already discussed the issue with Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad Sangma.
He noted that police officials from Madhya Pradesh remain in close contact with their counterparts in Meghalaya. The missing woman, 25-year-old Sonam Raghuvanshi, vanished alongside her husband, 29-year-old Raja Raghuvanshi, on May 23, shortly after they checked out of a homestay in Nongriat village during their honeymoon.
Tragically, on June 2, authorities discovered Raja Raghuvanshi’s body in a gorge near a waterfall in the Sohra area, situated about 20 kilometers from the homestay. Following this grim discovery, the Meghalaya police registered a murder case, but there have been no leads regarding Sonam’s whereabouts.
In an update shared on social media platform X, Chief Minister Yadav expressed solidarity, stating that Madhya Pradesh stands firmly with Sonam Raghuvanshi’s family during this challenging time. He further elaborated on his efforts to address the situation, confirming his communication with Chief Minister Sangma and noting that senior police officials from Madhya Pradesh are coordinating with Meghalaya authorities.
Yadav reiterated his request for a CBI investigation, emphasizing that all possible measures are being taken to ensure the safe return of Sonam Raghuvanshi.
