New Allegations Spark Investigation into Adani’s Secret Oil Imports from Iran!
Gautam Adani’s company, Adani Enterprises, is facing serious allegations of secretly importing oil from Iran. This new claim has sparked outrage in the United States, prompting the Department of Justice to initiate an investigation. This information was disclosed by a prominent American news outlet. Adani Enterprises has categorically denied the allegations.
A report in the American media asserts that Adani Enterprises has been covertly importing oil from Iran through the Mundra Port in Gujarat, in violation of U.S. sanctions. Several oil tankers have reportedly been spotted at the location recently.
In response to the accusations, a spokesperson for Adani Enterprises stated, “We have not secretly imported any oil from Iran. These allegations are completely baseless and seem to be part of a conspiracy aimed at tarnishing the reputation of the Adani Group. Furthermore, we are not aware of any investigations being conducted by the U.S. Department of Justice.”
It is important to note that last month, former President Donald Trump declared that the U.S. must immediately cease purchasing oil or petrochemical products from Iran. He warned that countries violating these sanctions could face economic repercussions in the future. The recent allegations against the Adani Group have generated significant public reaction in this context.
Notably, in November of last year, explosive accusations were made against the Adani Group, claiming that Gautam Adani, his nephew Seawag, and their associates bribed to secure solar energy contracts at prices higher than those in various Indian states, allegedly involving around ₹2,237 crores. The group was reportedly planning to earn approximately ₹16,900 crores from that project over the next 20 years.
Additionally, it has been alleged that Adani Green Company raised about ₹6,338 crores through bonds for this project, including claims that they secured $175 million from American investors.
If Adani Group raises funds from the U.S. stock market, they must comply with all relevant laws. Consequently, the Securities and Exchange Commission and the Department of Justice have taken action against the Adani Group, which has been implicated in three lawsuits in U.S. courts. Nevertheless, Adani Group firmly denies all these allegations.
