Owaisi’s Bold Move in Algeria: What It Means for Global Politics
AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi has asserted that reinstating Pakistan on the Financial Action Task Force’s (FATF) grey list could significantly curb global terrorism. Addressing concerns during his visit to Algeria, which was part of India’s outreach efforts following the recent Pahalgam terror attack, he emphasized that terrorism is fundamentally rooted in ideology and financial support, both of which stem from Pakistan.
In a robust statement, Owaisi remarked, “Terrorism survives on two things — ideology and money. Ideology, as you well know, has been evident during the Black Decade. Even in southern Algeria, issues persist. On this matter, we stand united… Bringing Pakistan back onto the FATF grey list will likely lead to a decrease in terrorism in India. We witnessed fewer killings following similar actions in 2018, with assistance from Algeria and other nations.”
Owaisi also highlighted that despite Pakistan’s struggling economy, it continues to support terrorism against India. He labeled Pakistan the epicenter of Takfirism, stating there is no substantial ideological difference between its terror groups and those like Daesh and Al-Qaeda. He condemned the belief held by these groups of having religious justification for their actions, asserting, “Islam does not allow the killing of any person, and unfortunately, that is their ideology.”
This is a developing story.
