Excitement Builds as CM Inspects Paljor Stadium for PM Modi’s Visit
Chief Minister Prem Singh Tamang-Golay visited Paljor Stadium on Monday to assess the preparations for Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s upcoming visit, which coincides with the 50th anniversary of Sikkim’s Statehood. During his inspection, the Chief Minister expressed satisfaction with the progress and quality of the work, commending the collaborative efforts of government officials and party workers. “It is heartening to see the preparations in full swing, with everyone working in perfect coordination,” he remarked.
Tamang-Golay underscored the historical significance of the occasion, calling it a proud moment for Sikkim. He encouraged all stakeholders and the public to unite in ensuring the event’s success. “We are truly honored to host our Prime Minister, and I call upon everyone to contribute wholeheartedly to make this celebration memorable,” he added.
The Golden Jubilee celebration is expected to feature a series of notable events, with the Prime Minister’s visit being a key highlight. The Chief Minister had returned to Sikkim earlier in the day after a successful official visit to New Delhi. This visit was part of the ongoing celebrations marking five decades of Sikkim’s Statehood, during which he extended formal invitations to the Prime Minister, union ministers, and dignitaries for the festivities set for May 29.
Additionally, during his time in Delhi, the Chief Minister participated in several significant meetings, including the 10th NITI Aayog Governing Council Meeting, where he presented the Sikkim Vision 2047. He also attended the State of the States Sikkim@50 Conclave, organized by the India Today Group, and the Rising Northeast Investors Summit 2025 at Bharat Mandapam. At these events, he expressed strong appreciation for the Central Government’s ongoing support toward the Northeast region.
