Agastya Nanda Shines as War Hero Arun Khetarpal in ‘Ikkis’
Amitabh Bachchan’s grandson, Agastya Nanda, is poised to make a significant impact in his theatrical debut with the forthcoming war drama Ikkis, directed by Sriram Raghavan. This film, produced by Maddock Films, recounts the poignant story of Second Lieutenant Arun Khetarpal, recognized as India’s youngest recipient of the Param Vir Chakra, the nation’s highest military honor.
The teaser, released by the film’s creators on Saturday, provides a stirring look into the Battle of Basantar during the 1971 Indo-Pak war. It features an emotional telegram announcing Khetarpal’s death in combat, capturing the weight of this narrative. The teaser was shared via Maddock Films’ official Instagram account, revealing that Ikkis will be released globally on October 2, 2025, coinciding with Gandhi Jayanti.
Joining Nanda in leading roles are veteran actor Dharmendra and Jaideep Ahlawat, promising a deeply character-driven portrayal of one of India’s most cherished war heroes.
Agastya Nanda previously made his screen debut in 2023 with The Archies, directed by Zoya Akhtar. That film, available on Netflix, was a musical coming-of-age drama set in the fictional town of Riverdale, showcasing a cast of newcomers, including Suhana Khan and Khushi Kapoor.
With Ikkis, Nanda transitions to cinema, stepping into a role that connects with the rich tapestry of India’s history and national legacy, marking a significant departure from his earlier work. Maddock Films, renowned for successful titles like Stree and Bala, is expected to deliver an engaging wartime narrative under Raghavan’s adept direction.
