IRCTC Partners with Mizoram Tourism to Ignite Regional Travel Excitement!
The Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC), a Public Sector Undertaking under the Ministry of Railways, is preparing to sign a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Department of Tourism, Government of Mizoram. This collaborative agreement is aimed at developing tourism infrastructure and promoting travel throughout Mizoram, leveraging coordinated efforts between the two entities.
The MoU, anticipated to be finalized shortly, will concentrate on enhancing regional connectivity and introducing travel alternatives that adhere to sustainable tourism practices. This initiative is part of a larger strategy to elevate the profile of Mizoram, a state in Northeast India renowned for its stunning natural landscapes and rich cultural diversity.
In addition to these improvements, IRCTC plans to provide outbound international tour packages to various destinations, including Nepal, Bhutan, Thailand, Singapore, Malaysia, Vietnam, and several European countries. These packages are being marketed as affordable options specifically aimed at travelers from Mizoram.
Initially established to oversee catering and hospitality services for Indian Railways, IRCTC has progressively expanded its reach into tourism and travel services. The upcoming MoU with Mizoram Tourism represents another step in its commitment to engage more deeply in regional tourism development.
This partnership is expected to create new opportunities for travelers in the region, while simultaneously stimulating the local economy through growth driven by tourism.
