Justice Demanded: FIR Filed in Seppa for Minor’s Assault Case
An FIR has been filed at the Women Police Station in Seppa regarding the horrific sexual assault of a five-year-old girl in Vikash Colony, New Seppa, Arunachal Pradesh. The complaint was lodged by Sita Waii Gyadi, President of the Women Welfare Organization (WWO) in East Kameng District, alongside General Secretary Puppy Sonam Bagang.
The WWO condemned the “inhuman and barbaric” act and issued a statement demanding immediate and strict action against the perpetrator. They expressed profound sorrow over the incident, which they said has “shocked and shaken” the entire district and the state.
In their letter to authorities, the WWO stated, “This intolerable act of penetrative sexual assault on a minor is a shameful incident that has left us in deep anguish.” They emphasized their serious concern regarding the rising crimes against girls and women in the district.
Though the organization acknowledged the swift arrest of the accused by the police following the FIR, they called on the district administration to take stronger measures to protect women and children, highlighting an alarming increase in similar crimes.
The WWO also insisted on a thorough and fair investigation into the case and urged the prompt filing of a charge sheet to ensure that the accused faces exemplary punishment. “We remain hopeful for immediate intervention from the authorities to ensure justice for the victim and restore the broader community’s sense of safety and security,” the letter concluded.
