Manipur Police: FIR Filed Against KSO Delhi Chief for Meitei Threats
Manipur’s Churachandpur Police have filed a First Information Report (FIR) against Paojakhup Guite, the President of the Kuki Students’ Organisation (KSO) Delhi, following the emergence of a video on social media. In the video, Guite allegedly threatens the Meitei community, warning them not to cross a designated buffer zone to participate in the upcoming Shirui Festival in Ukhrul.
In response to this serious allegation, police have launched a comprehensive manhunt for Guite, conducting raids in nearby districts to secure his immediate arrest. The police department has also sought assistance from forces in neighboring states including Mizoram, Assam, Nagaland, and Meghalaya, aiming to apprehend him swiftly.
Authorities have emphasized that all necessary security measures will be implemented to ensure the safety of attendees at the Shirui Festival, maintaining order and preventing any potential escalation of tensions between communities. The situation remains fluid as law enforcement continues its operations to address the threats and maintain peace in the region.
