CRPF Honors Brave Officer Struck by Lightning in Anti-Maoist Operation
The body of CRPF officer Maharabam Prabo Singh, who tragically lost his life after being struck by lightning during an anti-Maoist operation in Jharkhand’s West Singhbhum district, was brought to Imphal on Saturday afternoon. Manipur Security Advisor Kuldiep Singh, alongside senior officials, legislators, and family members, paid their respects during a wreath-laying ceremony at the airport.
R. Duidang, the CRPF DIG for Manipur and Nagaland, addressed reporters, stating, “Prabo laid down his life in the line of duty after he was tragically struck by lightning during an anti-Maoist operation conducted by the 26th Battalion.” He emphasized that Prabo, who joined the CRPF in 2006, was known for his seriousness and focus. “The force will never forget him,” he added.
Following the ceremony, Prabo’s mortal remains were transported to Sekmai in Imphal West district for the last rites. The incident highlights the inherent risks faced by security personnel in their line of duty, serving as a grim reminder of their sacrifices.
