Tailor Arrested in Bareilly for Sharing ‘Pro-Pak’ Video on Social Media
A 22-year-old tailor was arrested in the Bareilly district on Monday for allegedly uploading a video on social media in support of Pakistan, according to police. The accused, identified as Mohammad Sajid from Girdharpur village, is facing charges for disturbing communal harmony and spreading hatred. A case was registered against him under Sections 197 and 353 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) at Deorania police station.
Authorities seized Sajid’s mobile phone, which reportedly contained pro-Pakistan videos, and it will be sent for forensic examination. The case came to light after local residents raised objections regarding the content of his posts. “Mohammad Sajid will be produced in court on Tuesday. Upon checking his phone, we found a considerable amount of objectionable content,” stated Deorania Station House Officer (SHO) Dinesh Kumar Sharma.
In a related incident, a video purportedly showing Sajid shouting ‘Pakistan Murdabad’ (down with Pakistan) in police custody is circulating on social media.
Additionally, another individual, 27-year-old Jamaat Ali, was arrested in Sambhal for allegedly sharing a video on Facebook claiming that India’s Rafale fighter jet was shot down by Pakistani forces. Police reported that Ali had shared claims of the aircraft being downed and its pilot being captured. The investigation revealed that he had engaged with multiple videos supporting Pakistan, leading to charges under Section 152 of the BNS for actions endangering India’s sovereignty.
