Air India Suspends Tel Aviv Flights: What You Need to Know for Your Travel Plans
Guwahati: Air India announced on Friday, May 9, 2025, that it is extending the suspension of its flights to and from Tel Aviv until May 25 due to ongoing security concerns in the region. This decision follows a missile attack near Tel Aviv’s airport on Sunday, May 4. Initially, Air India halted operations until May 6, later extending the suspension to May 8, and the most recent update now delays operations until May 25.
In a notice shared on X (formerly Twitter), the airline stated, “Our flights to and from Tel Aviv will remain suspended till 25th May 2025.” Customers holding valid tickets for travel by this date will receive a one-time waiver on rescheduling fees or a full refund for cancellations. Air India is the only Indian airline that offers direct flights between Delhi and Tel Aviv, typically operating five flights each week.
On May 4, as tensions escalated following the missile strike, Air India had to divert a Delhi-Tel Aviv flight to Abu Dhabi as a safety measure. The airline continues to monitor the security situation closely and will provide updates as necessary.
