NDFB Leaders Shifted to Chirang: Hope for a Peaceful Accord
Five senior leaders of the National Democratic Front of Boroland (NDFB), currently in judicial custody at Guwahati Central Jail in connection with CBI cases, were transferred today to the Bodoland Guest House in Kajalgaon, Chirang. This move is part of the ongoing dialogue among the Central Government, the Assam Government, and the Bodoland Territorial Region (BTR) administration aimed at resolving pending cases against NDFB leaders and cadres following a peace accord. Important discussions are also taking place regarding the resolution of all outstanding CBI and NIA cases through legal avenues, including final resolutions in the Supreme Court.
The leaders transported to Chirang include Vice President Rifikhang Goyari, known as Rajen; Deputy Army Chief George Boro, alias Jingkhang; Ajay Basumatary, alias Augai; Khourangsar Basumatary, also known as Khargeswar; and Raju Sarkar. They were moved under tight security and are now housed at the Bodoland Guest House.
On this occasion, Danshrung Narzary, Editor and representative of the Ex-NDFB Welfare Society, welcomed the transfer, emphasizing the critical need to address all outstanding issues through peaceful and legal means.
