Powerful Rebuke: Asaduddin Owaisi Brands Pakistan a ‘Failed Nation’, Urges Grey Listing for Terror Sponsorship

In a fervent address during an election rally in Bihar’s Kishanganj, AIMIM president Asaduddin Owaisi intensified his criticism of Pakistan, labeling it a “failed nation” and urging the Indian government to advocate for its inclusion on the Financial Action Task Force (FATF) grey list due to alleged terrorism sponsorship. Owaisi’s comments come in response to recent tensions following a terror attack in Pahalgam. He emphasized that Pakistan’s inability to maintain harmony among its ethnic groups and poor relations with neighbors like Iran and Afghanistan illustrate its failings.

The Hyderabad MP urged stronger measures from the Indian government, suggesting that previous restrictions on Pakistan’s maritime and aviation sectors were insufficient. “India is and shall always remain stronger,” Owaisi stated, arguing for escalated actions, such as bringing Pakistan under the scrutiny of the FATF. This international body holds significant influence in monitoring nations alleged to support terrorism financially.

Owaisi also took aim at Pakistan’s military leadership, specifically targeting army chief General Asim Munir for his recent statements perceived as hostile towards India. He reminded the audience that Indian Muslims had rejected Pakistan’s founding leader, Jinnah, in 1947, choosing integration with India, and reassuring that their descendants are resolute about staying in the country.

In a dramatic shift, Owaisi extended his critique to include a former Bangladeshi army officer’s controversial suggestion of partnering with China to annex India’s northeastern territories should India retaliate against Pakistan for the Pahalgam attack. Owaisi retorted by highlighting Bangladesh’s historical debt to India for its independence.

Calling for decisive action from India’s Centre, Owaisi expressed his desire for strategies extending beyond mere cross-border strikes. He referenced a parliamentary resolution affirming that Pakistan-occupied Kashmir is an integral part of India. In his statement to reporters, he advocated not for transient skirmishes but for more enduring tactics, metaphorically suggesting India should “enter their house and stay.”

Owaisi concluded by addressing unconfirmed media reports of Pakistani military vacating border posts, maintaining a cautious stance regarding the accuracy of these claims.

This call to action aims to amplify India’s geopolitical stance and domestic security measures amid escalating regional tensions. Owaisi’s robust critique and recommendations reflect a broader sentiment advocating for a firmer stance against Pakistan while simultaneously bolstering India’s national integrity and regional diplomacy.

The dialogue on India’s response to perceived provocations from neighboring countries continues to be a pivotal aspect of national policy debates, drawing public interest and media attention as developments unfold.
