Revitalizing Tribal Heritage: Rs 32.5 Crore Allocated for Cultural Hub
Tripura Chief Minister Prof. Dr. Manik Saha yesterday announced plans to establish a cultural hub in the state with a financial grant of Rs 32.5 crore from the DoNER Ministry. The announcement was made during the inauguration of the state-level Buisu festival in Karbook’s Gomati district, an event organized by the Tripura Chubulai Buthu Samajik Sansthan.
According to Dr. Saha, the state government is committed to preserving the customs, culture, and traditions of the tribal people, and the cultural hub will be a step towards achieving this goal. The Chief Minister also emphasized the importance of supporting the socio-economic development of the tribal population, stating that the state government will do whatever is needed to ensure their overall development.
Dr. Saha spoke at length about the government’s efforts to preserve the traditional festivals and customs of the tribal communities. He highlighted various festivals like Garia, Buisu, Biju, Hajagiri, and Wangala, which are an integral part of the tribal heritage. The Chief Minister also announced that financial resources have been allocated in the budget for setting up a college in Karbook, which will provide opportunities for higher education to students.
The cultural hub, which will be built with the financial assistance of the DoNER Ministry, will be a significant step towards promoting and preserving the cultural heritage of the state. The Chief Minister emphasized that the state government is committed to following the vision of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, which emphasizes Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Prayas, and Sabka Vishwas.
Dr. Saha also expressed his gratitude towards the Prime Minister, stating that the development of the tribals has intensified since his tenure began. He also highlighted the fact that seven indigenous personalities from the state have been awarded the Padma Shri, a recognition that has never been seen before.
The event was attended by several notable personalities, including Tribal Welfare Minister Bikas Debbarma, Cooperative Minister Shukla Charan Noatia, former MP Rebati Tripura, MLA Sanjay Manik Tripura, ADC Executive Member Dolly Reang, ADC Member Kangjong Mag, District Magistrate of Gomati district Tarit Kanti Chakma, and other prominent guests.
The cultural hub project and the government’s efforts to promote the socio-economic development of the tribal population are significant steps towards empowering the indigenous communities of Tripura. The project’s success will depend on the effective implementation of the plan and the allocation of sufficient resources to ensure its smooth functioning.
