The 10-day rally, which concluded on April 13, saw high-performance sports cars from top manufacturers like Lamborghini, Ferrari, Bugatti, Audi, and Porsche speeding effortlessly on smooth roads across Arunachal Pradesh. In stark contrast, residents of Margherita in neighboring Assam were left to navigate a national highway marred by massive potholes, often filled with water, causing frustration for commuters and locals alike.

The Arunachal Himalayan Odyssey, which covered approximately 2,000 kilometers of the scenic Trans-Arunachal Highway, was a testament to the region’s growing tourism industry and infrastructure development efforts. The event showcased Arunachal’s natural beauty and cultural richness, while also underlining the urgent need for neighboring regions to prioritize road development and match the pace of infrastructural growth.

While the rally in Arunachal Pradesh highlighted the region’s progress, the poor road conditions in Margherita, Assam, remain a pressing concern. “The condition of the roads is a major obstacle to daily life, and it’s frustrating to see neighboring regions like Arunachal making significant strides while we struggle to maintain our own infrastructure,” said Ramesh Chandra, a local resident of Margherita. His sentiments were echoed by many, who reiterated the need for immediate attention to the issue.
