Parag Leads Impressive Chinnaswamy Show As RCB Tears apart CSK’s title Defenses
As Rajasthan Royals prepare to face Chennai Super Kings at the ACA Stadium in Guwahati, their head coach Rahul Dravid is confident that his team can bounce back from their first two losses of the season. Despite the setbacks, Dravid believes that there is no lack of motivation to leave the region with a win.
In a pre-match press conference, Dravid pointed to the team’s poor showing in the first half of both games as the key factor in their losses. “We gave probably 30 runs extra in the game in Hyderabad on a very flat cricket, and against KKR, we probably could have scored 25 runs more in this match,” he said. “So, we just need to get both parts of the game right.” Dravid emphasized that it’s still early days in the tournament and that there are plenty of positives to take from the first two games.
Dravid also praised the performances of stand-in captain Riyan Parag, who has adapted well to the responsibility despite the tough circumstances. “I think he has adapted really well,” Dravid said. “It’s not easy to captain when your team is chasing 280 runs on a flat wicket. The first game is probably a tough game to be a captain, but I think the calmness that he showed, it didn’t seem like our team was panicking.” Dravid praised Parag’s brave decision to bowl the fifth over in the powerplay against KKR, which he believes was a turning point in the game.
Dravid concluded that Parag has been impressive in his first few games as captain and that he will continue to learn and grow. “He’s very clear, he’s very sorted in that sense. Very impressive early days, and it’s nice for us as a team that’s looking to develop people and players,” he said. With a renewed focus and a renewed sense of motivation, Rajasthan Royals are set to take on Chennai Super Kings in a crucial match that will determine their fate in the tournament.
