India’s Youth Takes Center Stage: ‘Viksit Bharat Youth Parliament’ Kicks Off in New Delhi

New Delhi is set to host the three-day Viksit Bharat Youth Parliament, an event that aims to bridge the gap between young individuals and politics, fostering their engagement in governance and nation-building. The Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports is facilitating this endeavor, which marks the first in-person District Nodal Rounds since the COVID-19 pandemic. This initiative has garnered significant attention, with over 75,000 young people from every state and union territory submitting their video entries through the MY Bharat portal.

Following the successful district and state rounds, the top three candidates from each state and union territory have been selected to participate at the national level, bringing the total number of participants to 108. These young individuals will engage in high-level discussions and activities, including a question hour on “One Nation, One Election” and “Viksit Bharat”. The participants will also attend sessions in the Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha, providing them with firsthand exposure to governance.

The entire event, which kicked off today, is scheduled to conclude on Thursday, with the Viksit Bharat Youth Parliament Awards and National Youth Awards to be conferred. The beneficiaries of this initiative will not only gain valuable insights but also develop essential skills in leadership, communication, and problem-solving. The Viksit Bharat Youth Parliament serves as a prime example of how the government is actively working to empower the youth, equipping them to become responsible citizens and future leaders.

As the dice are cast, the participants will need to don their thinking caps, scrutinize policy decisions, and formulate innovative solutions to complex problems. The event will provide a space for young individuals to share their ideas, opinions, and perspectives, ultimately contributing to a more inclusive and participative democracy.
