Ahead of the Rabha Hasong Autonomous Council elections, Assam’s Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma has announced a reduction in electricity tariffs, effective from April 1. The news is set to bring relief to lakhs of domestic and commercial consumers across the state.
As of April 1, electricity charges will be reduced by Rs 1 per unit, and by the end of the year, the state government will provide an additional rebate of Rs 1 per unit.
