Experience Thrill and Serenity: Exciting Boating Adventures Launch at Sanna Kere, Yadgir
In a significant boost to local tourism, a new boating facility has been unveiled in Yadgir city, much to the delight of residents and visitors alike. Located at Sanna Kere in the serene Lumbini Garden, this innovative venture was officially launched on March 24, 2025, thanks to the collaborative effort of the District Administration, Zilla Panchayat, Tourism Department, and Bengaluru-based Vinyog Ventures Private Limited. The initiative was inaugurated by MLA Channareddy Patil Tunnur, marking a milestone for the community.
The newly introduced boating service offers a variety of options catering to diverse preferences, promising a memorable experience for anyone seeking recreation on the water. Four distinct types of boats are now available: kayaking, bumping, general, and rafting boats. Whether a thrill-seeker or a casual visitor, there is something for everyone. Addressing the attendees, Mr. Tunnur emphasized the inclusivity of the offerings, stating, “Visitors of all ages will find something to their liking.”
The launch has been eagerly anticipated by the community. Yadgir CMC Chairperson Lalita Anapur expressed her joy at seeing a long-held community aspiration come to fruition. “The dream has come true. The citizens should make use of the facility,” she urged. This sentiment underscores the potential of the facility to enhance local recreational activities and promote Yadgir as a destination for domestic tourism.
Looking ahead, the Tourism Department is making strides to expand similar facilities in the region. Ramachandra, Assistant Director of Tourism, revealed plans to issue a tender aimed at developing boating amenities in other scenic spots, including Mavinakere at Shahapur, Ibrahimpur Kere, Narayanapur Reservoir, and Minaspur Kere. These efforts are envisioned to further boost tourism, drawing more visitors to these picturesque locations while promoting local economic development.
Present at the inauguration was Additional Deputy Commissioner Sharanabasappa Koteppagol, among other notable dignitaries. The presence of such officials highlights the significance of the venture as part of a larger strategic effort to invest in and enhance the region’s tourism infrastructure.
As word spreads about this new attraction, Sanna Kere in Lumbini Garden is poised to become a favorite spot not only for locals but also for visitors from further afield. The addition of boating facilities ties into a larger narrative of developing tourist-friendly amenities that capitalize on natural beauty while fostering economic opportunities for the community. This project is an example of effective public-private partnerships that leverage local resources for both leisure and tourism growth.
Overall, the launch of the boating services at Sanna Kere is more than just a new activity option; it’s a symbol of progress, reflecting the community’s commitment to enhancing its cultural and tourism landscape. With a promising future and strategic plans set in motion, Yadgir continues to transform and position itself as a noteworthy destination within Karnataka.
