A FATAL CRASH NEAR GUWAHATI’S ISBT CLAIMS LIFE, LEAVES ONlookER CRITICALLY INJURED
A devastating road accident occurred near Guwahati’s International Stadium Bus Terminus (ISBT) on Friday, March 21, leaving one person dead and another in a critical condition. According to eyewitnesses, a two-wheeler collided with a dumper from behind, resulting in a fatal outcome.
As per eyewitness accounts, the scooty rammed into the dumper, causing the pillion rider to sustain severe injuries. The victim, who was riding the scooty, succumbed to his injuries instantly, while the pillion passenger was left critically injured. Despite the presence of an ambulance, response efforts were hindered due to a delayed reaction from the authorities. Fortunately, the police reached the scene and are working to clear the route.
GPlus spoke to an eyewitness who was present at the scene, who recounted the incident, “A scooty rammed into a dumper from behind. The rider died on the spot, while the pillion passenger is critically injured. An ambulance has been called, but when we tried to contact the authorities for immediate assistance, they were unavailable. Police have arrived at the scene.” A traffic official from the Gorchuk police station also confirmed the accident, stating, “A man has died in a road accident near ISBT. Our team is working to clear the route.”
The incident has raised questions about the safety and emergency response measures in place near the busy ISBT. The local authorities are yet to provide further information on the incident, leaving the fate of the critically injured pillion passenger uncertain.
