According to Delhi Fire Service (DFS) officials, the fire was initially tackled by 11 fire tenders, which took approximately two hours to bring the inferno under control.

The 30 huts in a nearby JJ cluster adjacent to the market were also destroyed, leaving many residents without homes. “We are grateful that no one was injured, but the financial loss is substantial,” said a DFS official, who was at the scene.
