BLAZING RECORD $246.7 MILLION: ‘Dragon’ Devours The Hottest Box Office Day 24!
Dragon’s Scorching Start!
The curtains have drawn to a close on the first 24 days of Dragon’s run, and the numbers are simply fiery! The Telugu/Tamil/Hindi (T3) film, directed by the dynamic duo Ashwath Marimuthu and produced by AGS Entertainment, has earned a staggering ₹96.91 Cr India net. But, darling, that’s not all – it’s just the beginning!
Let’s break it down. The opening weekend was a scorcher, with an estimated ₹20.13 Cr net. The following weeks saw a steady climb, with ₹31.9 Cr, ₹12.8 Cr, and ₹12.8 Cr respectively. The 24th day brought in a modest but respectable ₹0.18 Cr, putting the total at ₹96.91 Cr. It’s a spark that refuses to die!
But what about the box office trends, you ask? Well, sweet reader, here’s the tea: the occupancy rates for Tamil and Telugu audiences have seen a slight dip. Tamil picked up momentum, with 18.63% in the morning shows and a dismal 0% in the afternoon, evening, and night shows. Telugu, on the other hand, reported 13.06% in the morning shows and a disappointing 0% the rest of the day.
Hindi, the third leg of the T3 film, was the weakest link, with a paltry 0% occupancy across all shows. One wonders if the busy bees at AGS Entertainment will be having a rethink on their marketing strategy to revive interest in the Hindi version.
So, what’s working for the film? The buzz is that the movie’s storyline, although predictable, has struck a chord with the masses. Let’s face it, who doesn’t love a good dragon tale? The dialogues, reportedly laced with wit and humor, are also receiving critical acclaim. Add to that the star power of Pradeep Ranganathan, Kayadu Lohar, Anupama Parameswaran, Mysskin, and Gautham Vasudev Menon, and you have a recipe for box office success.
As Rupaliparda, I must say that the movie’s journey, so far, has been nothing short of a sprint. But, knotty plot twists abound – will the film’s pace maintain its momentum, or will it fizzle out? Only time will tell. Stay tuned for more updates, and don’t forget to tune in for my future reviews, where I’ll dish the dirt and spill the tea on the latest Kollywood and Tollywood buzz!
