Assault and Robbery Erupts Near Guwahati’s Guru Nanak High School Over Parked Car Feud
A parking dispute turned violent in Guwahati, resulting in a man being assaulted and robbed by four individuals in the early hours of Saturday, March 16. The shocking incident unfolded near Guru Nanak High School on Dr B.K. Kakati Road, leaving the victim with multiple injuries.
According to eyewitnesses, the altercation began at around 10:15 PM on Friday when the victim requested one of the individuals to park their vehicle, which was obstructing pedestrian movement. Instead, the accused began to shout at the victim using abusive language, prompting three others to join in and physically assault the man. The victim’s 10-year-old daughter and wife, Dipika Jain, witnessed the harrowing scene.
The group allegedly snatched the victim’s gold chain and purse containing approximately ₹15,000 in cash. Bystanders soon gathered, and the accused fled the scene in two vehicles, recklessly damaging other parked cars in the process. A formal complaint has been lodged with the Paltan Bazar police station.
The police are currently trying to track down the suspects, with an investigation underway. A spokesperson for the Paltan Bazar police station stated, “We are working to apprehend the accused and gather more information. We cannot provide further details at this time.” The investigation is ongoing, and more details are awaited.
