J&K Government Takes Strategic Steps: Forms Business Advisory Committee to Streamline Time Allocation in House
Jammu and Kashmir’s Legislator Leader Crafts Balanced Business Advisory Committee
In a move aimed at ensuring a fair and efficient allocation of time for business in the Legislative Assembly of Jammu and Kashmir, the Speaker of the House, Abdul Rahim Rather, has formed a crucial Business Advisory Committee (BAC). Comprised of representatives from all major political parties, including the opposition, this committee reflects the multicultural and multidegreein Jammu and Kashmir, aiming to provide a balanced representation.
The committee includes five members from the ruling alliance, which is represented by Ali Muhammad Sagar (National Conference), Mubarak Gul (National Conference), Ghulam Ahmad Mir (Congress), Muhammad Yousaf Tarigami (CPI-M), and Choudhary Muhammad Akram. The opposition is represented by three members – Sunil Sharma (BJP), Sajad Gani Lone (PC), and Mir Muhammad Fayaz (PDP). With its diverse composition, this committee is expected to work in tandem with the House’s management, dividing the day’s proceedings.
According to sources, the BAC, headed by Speaker Abdul Rahim Rather, will be responsible for overseeing the daily routine of the House, specifically controlling the time allocated for discussions. The Jammu and Kashmir House has been a battleground for various political parties in recent times, hence, this committee’s formation is seen as a step towards maintaining the decorum and appeasing the opposition party’s members. With a robust mix of political pros and cons, the BAC is expected to ensure a harmonious and efficient functioning of the House.
