Agile Advantage: India’s Rubber Hub, Tripura, Set to Host Pioneering CII Expo 2025 in March
The Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) is set to host its first-ever CII Rubber Component Expo 2025 in Agartala, Tripura, on March 28-29, 2025. The event is expected to attract entrepreneurs, investors, and industry experts from across the country. According to sources, Tripura has emerged as the second-largest rubber producer in India, thanks to initiatives to expand rubber plantations in the state, resulting in a significant increase in rubber production.
The CII Rubber Component Expo 2025 aims to promote micro, small, and medium enterprises in Tripura by showcasing rubber machineries, components, and technologies. The platform will facilitate one-on-one interactions between buyers and sellers, providing valuable insights and information on investing in the state. The event will also serve as a platform for attracting investment in the recently announced second Rubber Park at Santirbazar in the South Tripura district.
As Tripura is the second-largest producer of natural rubber in the country, accounting for around 9% of India’s total production, the event is expected to witness a significant turnout from industry stalwarts. Rubber plantations were initially taken up as a livelihood generation for the tribal people of Tripura, and today, the state has two public sector undertakings, Tripura Forest Development Plantation Corporation Ltd.
According to data from Tripura Industries and Commerce, the total rubber production in the state is 1,02,989 metric tons, with a total plantation area of 85,453.63 hectares, yielding 1,350 kilograms per hectare, which is significantly lower than the Kerala average of 1,553 kilograms per hectare.
“It will be a fantastic opportunity for entrepreneurs, investors, and industry experts to converge and discuss business opportunities, technology transfers, and investments,” said an official from the CII. The event will contribute to brand building, customer development, and fostering customer relationships, providing a platform for rubber component manufacturers to showcase their latest products and explore business opportunities. With the state’s natural rubber industry on the rise, the CII Rubber Component Expo 2025 is expected to be a game-changer for the sector.
