Kuntal Moni Sarmah Bordoloi, a new inductee to the Indian Administrative Service (IAS), has been appointed as Joint Secretary to the Government of Assam, Industries, Commerce & Public Enterprises Department. Bordoloi’s primary responsibility will be to work closely with the Chief Minister, serving as Officer on Special Duty (OSD) in addition to his regular duties.
Meanwhile, several Assam Civil Service (ACS) officers have also been reassigned. Richard Rongpi, ACS, has been appointed as Under Secretary to the Government of Assam, Fishery Department, following his release from wait list. Dhiraj Saud, ACS, currently deputed to the Welfare of Bodoland Department, has been repatriated to the Personnel Department, where he will assume the role of Joint Secretary. This development comes as a result of Ruth Lienthang, ACS, being transferred and appointed as Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Zilla Parishad, Hailakandi. However, she will not take up her new position immediately, as Dhiraj will need some time to relieve her.
These appointments and transfers demonstrate the state government’s commitment to revitalizing its administrative structure and streamlining governance processes.
