Tripura’s Progress: CM Saha Emphasizes Transparency and Voluntary Blood Donation

Agartala, February 28, 2025 – Chief Minister Prof. Dr. Manik Saha has emphasized the importance of transparency and voluntary blood donation, speaking at a mega blood donation camp in Agartala’s Ward Community Hall. The event, organized by Agartala Municipal Ward No. 39, aimed to promote a culture of giving and contributing to the well-being of the community.

Dr. Saha’s speech highlighted the need to separate development work from politics, stating, "It is better not to do politics with developmental work for the needs of the common people." He praised the current state government’s efforts, citing Tripura’s ranking second highest in terms of Gross State Domestic Product (GSDP) and per capita income among the North Eastern states.

The Chief Minister also criticized the communists for their failure to prioritize the state’s development, saying, "Earlier, we used to hear only ‘Zindabad Zindabad’ slogans. Whenever any developmental work was initiated, there were attempts to obstruct it. The communists created problems in various sectors, including employment. Now, our government is working to resolve those issues."

Dr. Saha drew parallels between blood donation and societal well-being, saying, "If there is opacity in the blood, it cannot be accepted under any circumstances. Similarly, if there is opacity in society, the society will not accept it either." He emphasized the importance of organizing blood donation camps, citing the benefits of pre-donation tests in detecting health conditions and the need for a culture of voluntary blood donation, stating, "There is no greater donation than blood donation."

A Culture of Giving

The event was attended by Agartala Municipal Corporation Mayor and MLA Dipak Majumdar, MLA Mina Rani Sarkar, Corporator of Ward No. 39 Alok Roy, and several prominent dignitaries. The Chief Minister’s message echoed the importance of community engagement and public service, as he highlighted Tripura’s progress and growth.

"We have learned that people have rejected opacity and embraced progress," Dr. Saha said, reassuring that the state is committed to its people’s well-being. With this event, the government has set an example for future initiatives, inspiring a culture of giving and community involvement.
