Assam Rifles Heartfelt Tribute: Celebrating Four Inspirational Heroes from Nagaland for Their Remarkable Social Contributions
The Assam Rifles on Monday recognized four notable individuals from Nagaland for their exceptional contributions to society, peace, and civil-military relations. The ceremony, held at 13 Assam Rifles’ Kenguruse Hall, saw Director General Lt Gen Vikas Lakhera honor senior citizen and activist K. Neingunyu Sekhose, artist Imna Yaden, and two influential young women, Kenei Ritse and Neiketuno Sechü, with medals and citations.
K. Neingunyu Sekhose, a respected social leader from Kohima, was commended for his significant role in fostering peace and enhancing civil-military relations during his tenure as president of the Angami Public Organisation and the Northern Angami Public Organisation. His contributions have been pivotal in promoting collaborative community welfare initiatives.
Local artist Imna Yaden received recognition for his impact on the regional music industry. His noteworthy works include the ‘Vande Mataram’ album, released on the eve of India’s 78th Independence Day, and the theme song for the Captain Kenguruse MVC Memorial Football Tournament, celebrating both the Assam Rifles and the nation.
Beauty queens and social advocates Kenei Ritse and Neiketuno Sechü were applauded for their active engagement in mental health initiatives, drug abuse awareness, and youth empowerment. Ritse, Miss Northeast 2023, and Sechü, Miss Nagaland 2023, notably participated in the ‘Breaking the Silence’ campaign with Assam Rifles, addressing critical social issues.
General Lakhera, addressing the assembly, emphasized the value of honoring those who propel societal progress. He highlighted the challenges faced by Nagaland’s youth, especially concerning drug abuse, and urged them to embrace responsibility and learn from the past to drive positive change. He underlined the deep bond between the Assam Rifles and the region, fostering hope for a united effort towards a promising future.
