Revolutionary VisionOS 2.4 Unveils Exciting Fixes for Apple Vision Pro Woes
Apple is set to enhance its Vision Pro experience with the forthcoming release of visionOS 2.4, addressing significant usability challenges of its VR headset. A major update is the improved Guest Mode, which eliminates the need for owners to don the headset first. Instead, when a guest wears it, a prompt will appear on the owner’s iPhone or iPad to enable guest access, allowing for customizable app permissions and optional AirPlay sharing. Despite not extending beyond the current 30-day limit for saved guest profiles, this alteration simplifies sharing the device significantly.
To streamline content discovery, Apple introduces the Vision Pro iOS app, which enables users to browse the visionOS App Store, remotely install apps, and cue videos directly from their phones. This addresses the cumbersome process of locating software without wearing the headset.
Moreover, users can now access important device information, like serial numbers and App Clip codes for ZEISS Optical Inserts, through the app. It will automatically download with iOS 18.4, although it remains available to all from the App Store.
Complementing these updates, Apple is launching the Spatial Gallery app with the update. This curated collection of spatial photos, videos, and panoramas features exclusive content, such as behind-the-scenes clips from Apple TV’s “Severance” and “Shrinking,” designed to highlight the Vision Pro’s capabilities.
Overall, these updates mark a significant effort by Apple to refine the accessibility and usability of the Vision Pro, both simplifying device sharing and enhancing content engagement for its users. VisionOS 2.4 and its suite of improvements are expected in April.
