Arunachal CM’s Inspiring Tour: Empowering Women and Transforming Lives in Anjaw, Longding, and Kurung Kumey
Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Pema Khandu emphasized the importance of women empowerment during his recent five-day visit to the districts of Anjaw, Longding, and Kurung Kumey. Utilizing his official social media platform, X, Khandu declared, “Empowered women empower the nation!” and announced his engagement with the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Mahila Morcha team in Lower Dibang Valley at Hawai, Anjaw. He was accompanied by Minister Dasanglu Pul during the visit.
Khandu highlighted the crucial role women play in society, asserting that their leadership in political and social sectors strengthens communities. In addition to meeting with women leaders, he interacted with delegates from Anjaw district, keenly listening to their concerns. A particular focus was given to the Meyor community, which despite its small size of fewer than 1,000 people, holds a significant place in Arunachal Pradesh’s cultural landscape. Khandu expressed appreciation for their resilience and commitment to preserving their heritage, promising to address their grievances and support their aspirations.
The Chief Minister also engaged with the Mishmi Welfare Society and the All Mishmi Students Union. His discussions with them focused on the community’s issues and grievances, with Khandu committing to finding solutions that would uplift and empower the Mishmi community. His interactions during the tour underscored a broader commitment to fostering empowerment and addressing the challenges faced by different communities within his state.
Through his engagements, CM Khandu aimed to not only listen and understand community concerns but also assured that their voices would be heard and their needs addressed. His tour reflects an ongoing dedication to promoting women’s empowerment and supporting the unique cultural identities within Arunachal Pradesh.
