Revolutionary Drone Technology to Skyrocket Employment and Transform Development in the State: CM’s Bold Vision
Agartala, 7th February 2025: Chief Minister Prof. Dr. Manik Saha emphasized the transformative potential of drone technology in sectors like agriculture, security, and healthcare during the SKILL-UDAY TONGNAI skill development program launch at TIT, Narsingarh. Highlighting Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Act East Policy, Dr. Saha pointed out significant improvements in the Northeast, including infrastructure advancements like national highways and rail connectivity in Tripura.
Dr. Saha reflected on the region’s past issues of terrorism and kidnappings, noting that such challenges had been mitigated under Modi’s leadership. He revealed that 12 MoUs have been signed to ensure lasting peace, a prerequisite for development, and noted the stark positive changes seen by those returning to Tripura.
The Chief Minister underscored the initiative’s unity in diversity, stressing the need to harness Tripura’s untapped resources. He discussed recent talks with Reliance Industries Chairman Mukesh Ambani about enhancing rubber product quality for better international acceptance. Tripura, a significant rubber producer, is poised for industry growth in this sector.
Dr. Saha also mentioned the newly lifted restrictions on Agarwood exports, targeting ₹10,000 crore in revenue to boost the state’s economy. He criticized past government neglect of the tea industry; however, he highlighted recent advancements such as the opening of a Tea Auction Centre, boosting the price of Tripura tea.
Moreover, Dr. Saha celebrated the role of innovation, with a newly developed drone exemplifying the potential of such technologies to increase employment and productivity across various fields. The event was attended by Industry and Commerce Minister Sanatan Chakma, Secretary Kiran Gitte, and other officials, underscoring a strong commitment to progress and development within Tripura.
