Empowering Hope: Manipur’s Hill Leaders’ Day and Meeyamgi Numit Unite Kamjong to Resolve Public Grievances
Hill Leaders’ Day and Meeyamgi Numit were held successfully at Kasom Somrei Village in Kamjong District, led by Deputy Commissioner (DC) Rangnamei Rang Peter. The event, designed to address public concerns related to government schemes and services, was attended by key figures such as SP Kamjong Ningshem Vashum, Major Saurabh Jha from the 4AR Somrei Post, as well as SDOs, DLOs, and other officials across various departments.
DC Peter assured attendees that all public grievances would be treated with the utmost seriousness. A total of 300 applications were received from departments including Social Welfare, Health, Education, Veterinary, Agriculture, Horticulture, and Fisheries.
Notable outcomes of the event included:
- Health: 40 individuals received benefits under PMJAY, CMHT, and ABHA schemes.
- Social Welfare: 20 UDID cards were distributed.
- Identity Services: Over 40 Aadhaar cards were issued.
- Fisheries: 20 NFDP and 15 PMMSY applications were registered.
- Agriculture: 5 RKVY applications were resolved and 10 Soil Health Cards distributed on the spot.
- Medical Services: More than 80 patients received free treatment and medicines.
- Education: School stationery and uniforms were provided to five schools.
Additionally, DC Kamjong conducted an open round-table meeting with the headmen of 11 villages, including Kashung and Kasom Khullen, to discuss developmental priorities and community needs.
This initiative underscores the administration’s commitment to improving governance and service delivery in remote areas, ensuring that the voices and concerns of the local communities are addressed promptly and effectively.
