Major Victory: STF Assam Heroically Seizes Assault Rifle and Ammunition in Dhekiajuli Raid, 3 Suspects Arrested
In a decisive early morning operation on February 6, 2025, the Special Task Force (STF) of Assam, under the leadership of Deputy SP Satyendra Singh Hazari, successfully conducted a raid in Harasatapu, Muslim Chapori. Acting on specific intelligence, the team targeted the residence of Matibur Rahman, situated under the jurisdiction of Dhekiajuli Police Station. This operation culminated in the arrest of three individuals linked to illegal arms possession and resulted in the confiscation of a significant cache of weaponry and vehicles.
The items seized during the raid included one HK 33 assault rifle, 30 rounds of 5.56x45mm ammunition, three mobile phones, a Bolero vehicle (Registration No: AS12 U 9887), and a Royal Enfield motorcycle (Registration No: AS12 AF 7217). The apprehended individuals were Matibur Rahman, 26, Julfikar Ali, 32, both sons of the late Jahar Ali from Harasatapu, and Sohidul Islam, 30, son of Kuddus Ali from Upor Panbari, Dhekiajuli.
These individuals, along with the seized items, have been handed over to Dhekiajuli Police Station for further legal proceedings. The swift operation highlights the STF’s proactive approach in addressing illegal arms networks in the region.
