Himanta Biswa Sarma’s Fiery Critique: Kejriwal’s “Double PhD” in Dramabaazi and Daarubaazi Unveiled!
Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma launched a blistering critique of Aam Aadmi Party national convenor Arvind Kejriwal on February 2, 2025. During a public address in Delhi, Sarma labeled Kejriwal a “lying machine” and accused him of obtaining a “double PhD” in “Dramabaazi” (drama) and “Daarubaazi” (liquor-related misdemeanors). This attack was in response to Kejriwal’s recent arrest linked to the Delhi liquor policy scam.
Sarma remarked that Kejriwal’s imprisonment was not for any noble cause like the freedom struggle but rather for involvement in liquor theft. “When people go to jail for such crimes, they typically feel ashamed upon release. However, Kejriwal seems to have mastered the art of Dramabaazi and Daarubaazi,” Sarma commented.
Elevating his criticism, the Assam CM called Kejriwal a “goon,” citing an incident involving Kejriwal’s personal aide, Bibhav Kumar, who allegedly assaulted Rajya Sabha MP Swati Maliwal at the Delhi Chief Minister’s residence. “A goon like Arvind Kejriwal, who can assault his own MP at his home—have you ever seen such a notorious goon? He is the biggest goon in India,” Sarma asserted.
Additionally, Sarma scrutinized Kejriwal’s flagship Mohalla Clinic initiative, questioning its efficacy and the priorities of the Delhi government. He criticized the project as misguided, arguing that instead of setting up clinics along the streets, efforts should be directed toward building medical colleges to improve healthcare infrastructure in the capital. “He boasts about Mohalla Clinics as the best health model in the country, but why are we constructing hospitals on footpaths? Shouldn’t we focus on creating medical colleges for better healthcare?” Sarma demanded, challenging Kejriwal’s healthcare strategy ahead of the upcoming elections in Delhi.
