In a pivotal win for Akshay Kumar, “Sky Force,” co-directed by Sandeep Kewlani and Abhishek Anil Kapur, continues its impressive box-office streak, nearing the coveted Rs 100 crore milestone within just eight days of its release. The film raked in Rs 2.75 crore on its eighth day, pushing the domestic total to Rs 89.25 crore, according to industry tracker Sacnilk. Produced by Maddock Films and Jio Studios, this military drama has captured the audience’s attention with a 14.49% occupancy rate despite facing competition from Shahid Kapoor’s “Deva,” which had a modest opening at Rs 5 crore.

Notably, “Sky Force” marks a significant turnaround for Kumar, outpacing his recent releases like “Sarfira” (Rs 18.75 crore) and “Mission Raniganj” (Rs 18.25 crore). It stands proudly as the sole Hindi film in the top 5 highest-grossing Indian films of 2025, led by “Sankrantiki Vasthunnam” and “Game Changer,” placing third amidst strong contenders.

The film also stars Veer Pahariya, Sara Ali Khan, and Nimrat Kaur in key roles. With no major releases on the horizon except dubbed versions of Tamil and Telugu films and Himesh Reshammiya’s “Badass Ravikumar,” “Sky Force” appears poised to dominate the Hindi box office. As February’s Valentine’s Day releases approach, the film looks set for an obstacle-free tenure.
