Unstoppable Triumph: Arunachal Athlete Secures Historic Third Consecutive Wushu Gold at National Games!
Nyeman Wangsu achieved a milestone for Arunachal Pradesh by securing the state’s first gold medal at the 38th National Games in Uttarakhand. Wangsu’s victory came from her dominant performance in the Wushu Daoshu event on Thursday. This triumph marks her third consecutive gold medal at the National Games, following previous successes in Gujarat and Goa.
Arunachal Pradesh’s medal tally received further boosts from athletes Chera Loku and Yorna Rosni. Loku earned a silver medal in the Taijiquan event, while Rosni clinched a bronze in the Nandao category. Their accomplishments illustrate the growing prowess of Arunachal Pradesh in national sports arenas.
The achievements of these athletes were celebrated by the state’s Chief Minister, Pema Khandu, who took to social media to laud their dedication and contribution to the sporting legacy of Arunachal Pradesh. “Your dedication and hard work have brought pride to Arunachal Pradesh,” Khandu expressed, highlighting Wangsu’s impressive accomplishment.
In contrast, Arunachal Pradesh’s debut in the badminton events at the National Games ended prematurely. The team faced early exits following losses to Rajasthan and Chhattisgarh, both matches concluding with scores of 1-4.
The 38th National Games, hosted in Uttarakhand, will continue through January 2025, featuring athletes from all over India competing in a range of sporting disciplines. The ongoing games provide a platform for showcasing talent and skill across the nation, fostering competitive spirit among athletes.
