Tripura Shines at Republic Day Parade 2025 with Impressive Tableau Performance
Agartala: Tripura celebrated a significant achievement by securing second place in the Best Tableaux category at the Republic Day Parade 2025 held in New Delhi. This prestigious event, which showcases the rich cultural tapestry of India, saw Tripura’s tableau titled "Eternal Reverence: The Worship of 14 Deities in Tripura – Kharchi Puja" earn high praise.
The evaluation was carried out by three panels of judges from the Ministry of Defence. They assessed the performances of the Marching Contingents from the Armed Forces and Central Armed Police Forces, as well as the creative tableaux presented by various States, Union Territories, and Central Government Ministries and Departments.
Uttar Pradesh claimed the top spot with its tableau, "Mahakumbh 2025 – Swarnim Bharat: Virasat aur Vikas,” highlighting the state’s cultural heritage and progress. Andhra Pradesh rounded out the top three with its depiction of “Etikoppaka Bommalu – Eco-Friendly Wooden Toys,” emphasizing sustainable crafts.
Tripura’s participation was a testament to its cultural richness, with the tableau emphasizing the state’s diverse heritage and specific rituals associated with the Kharchi Puja. Displayed among 26 other tableaux, Tripura’s entry held the 19th position in the sequence, prominently featuring the state’s spiritual and cultural vibrancy.
The Republic Day Parade in New Delhi remains a platform where India’s states and territories showcase their unique identities and contributions towards a unified yet diverse national narrative. Tripura’s recognition in this event underscores its commitment to preserving and promoting its traditional heritage on a grand stage.
