Additionally, Professor Gita Upadhyay of Sonitpur, Assam, received praise for her notable contributions as a Gorkha author and sociopolitical commentator. With over 20 published works, her impact on India’s cultural and Gorkha heritage is profound. Professor Upadhyay is a descendant of freedom fighter Chabilal Upadhyay.
