Transformative Yamuna Revamp: Shah’s Bold Promise to Mirror Sabarmati’s Success in Delhi Sankalp Patra-3
New Delhi, Jan 25: The BJP unveiled its third manifesto for the upcoming Delhi Assembly elections, spotlighting a Sabarmati River-front style redevelopment of the Yamuna and converting leasehold properties for Partition refugees to freehold. Announced by Home Minister Amit Shah, the manifesto promises extensive welfare measures, including Rs 2,500 assistance for women, Rs 500 LPG cylinders, Rs 21,000 for pregnant women, and five-month maternity leave.
Highlighting BJP’s commitment to a corruption-free governance, Shah pledged 50,000 jobs for Delhi youths and 20 lakh self-employment opportunities. He emphasized relief measures such as a Rs 10 lakh insurance for the poor, with an additional Rs 5 lakh for the elderly, and support for gig and textile workers and autorickshaw drivers.
Criticizing the AAP, Shah accused its leader Arvind Kejriwal of corruption and failure in key areas like health and employment. He highlighted unfulfilled promises, such as doubling hospital beds and eradicating garbage, and alleged involvement in a liquor scam. Shah also mentioned the BJP’s intention to clean the Yamuna, inviting Kejriwal to witness it personally.
Addressing refugee concerns, the BJP promised ownership rights to Pakistan refugee families. Additional proposals included welfare boards for domestic help and panel discussions for de-sealing 13,000 shops. Shah assured voters that the BJP’s promises are realistic, incorporating feedback from 8,000 suggestions and 12,000 meetings.
Shah urged the electorate to trust PM Modi’s commitment to transforming Delhi’s future. With pledges of transparent governance, the BJP aims to address the city’s longstanding issues while offering solutions backed by performance. The BJP manifesto seeks to steer Delhi away from what Shah described as the politics of deception, advocating for progress through integrity and accountability.
