Shocking Bee Attack at Karbi Anglong School: Students Injured in Sudden Frenzy
In an unusual incident last year, around 15 voters, including women, were injured when bees attacked those queuing to vote in Tripura’s Khowai district, Barabill area. The unexpected bee attack led to panic among the voters, forcing them to flee, disrupting the electoral process. Swift action was taken by Fire and Emergency Service personnel, who promptly arrived at the scene, relocated the injured to Khowai district hospital, and provided necessary medical treatment before sending them home.
Election officials reported that the bees’ attack caused significant anxiety, temporarily halting the voting process. Addressing the situation, the emergency responders successfully located and destroyed the beehive situated near the government building that served as a polling station. This decisive action allowed for the resumption of voting at the Khowai assembly constituency, part of the Tripura East parliamentary constituency, after a short delay.
The incident highlighted the vulnerability of election arrangements to unexpected natural disruptions, underscoring the need for preparedness even for rare occurrences like bee attacks. Voter turnout post-incident reflected an environment of restored safety and order, with electoral officials ensuring that subsequent proceedings continued smoothly.
This incident stands as a testament to the swift and effective response of emergency services in maintaining electoral integrity and voter safety despite unforeseen challenges.
